Robb's Automotive Batteries And Tyres started with one person, a set of tools, and a simple belief: drivers deserve a mechanic who tells them the truth about their car, not just what needs to be sold. That person is Robin and this is how a one-man operation turned into a 25-strong team serving Beard and the wider Canberra region.

I'm Robin, the owner of Robb's Automotive. I got trained as a mechanic and automotive technician, earning my qualifications before making the move to Australia to build a career here. It wasn't a straight line to owning a workshop. Before Robb's Automotive existed, I spent years working alongside other mechanics, learning the difference between shops that fix cars properly and shops that just get them out the door.
That period matters more than a line on a resume. It's where I saw the same problem repeat itself: customers who didn't understand what was wrong with their car, quotes that didn't match the final bill, and repairs that solved the symptom but not the cause. I kept a mental list of everything I'd do differently if the workshop were mine.
In 2022, it became true. Robb's Automotive Batteries And Tyres opened in Beard, ACT, built around the standards I had been holding myself to for years.
